Tap the chat bubble icon in the bottom tab bar to open Messages — your private conversations with other members.
Starting a conversation
Tap the compose icon in the top corner of the Messages screen, search for a member, and pick them to open a new thread. You can also tap Message on any profile.
Message requests
When someone you don't follow messages you for the first time, it arrives as a message request instead of landing straight in your inbox. Open the Requests view to see it — you can Accept to move the conversation into your inbox, or Decline to quietly remove it (the sender isn't notified). Replying to a request accepts it automatically.
Sending photos
Tap the photo icon next to the message box to send photos from your camera roll. Tap any photo in a conversation to view it full screen, where you can also save it to your device. Photos are the focus for now — video in messages is on the roadmap.
Reactions, replies, and edits
Long-press any message to react with an emoji, reply to it directly (quoting the original), or edit a message you sent. Reactions appear right on the bubble for both of you.
Delivered, read, and typing
Your messages show when they've been delivered and read, and you'll see a typing indicator when the other person is writing back.
Staying safe in Messages
You control who can start a chat with you in Settings → Privacy. You can report or block a member from their profile at any time — see How to Report a Post or User.
